comment-region

Mark the region as a comment.  Ctrl-c Ctrl-r

This command comments out each line in the highlighted region, using the current mode's comment syntax. With a numeric prefix argument, it uncomments lines in the region instead. If no region is highlighted, it operates on the current line.
