finger

Show info on a user of a computer.

The finger command prompts for a string like "user@example.com", then uses the finger protocol to query the specified computer on the Internet for information about the given user. You may omit the user name to get a list of users logged onto the machine. Not all computers support this protocol. The output appears in an appropriately named buffer.
